Foreign Service Allowances for Employees of Government Agencies
In 2005 an exemption from tax was introduced for Officers of the State to compensate them while on foreign service for the extra costs of having to live and work abroad. For 2007 this exemption has been extended to include Enterprise Ireland, An Bord Bia, Tourism Ireland and the IDA.
