This tax credit has been abolished from 2011 onwards. The maximum amount of the tax credit is 40 for 2004 & 2005, 60 for 2006 and 2007, and 70 for 2008, 2009 and 2010. If you are/were a member of a Trade Union, at any time during any of the tax years 2007 to 2010 and you have not been granted relief for subscriptions made, you can claim your tax relief through your local tax office.
TAX SAVING TIP
You should check the content of your tax credit certificate to see if this relief is being given to you. If not you can still make a claim for earlier years and also arrange for the tax office to give you the relief for the current year.
