PAYE Taxpayers >> What to do if you discover you are due a tax refund
Tags: unclaimed tax refunds, checking tax, claim tax refund
If you are due a refund for any or all of the last four tax years you will have to complete a tax return for each year. You will need a form 12 which can be printed out for completion. It is possible for certain repayment claims to be dealt with over the Revenues internet service for PAYE Taxpayers. This is a relatively new service. You have to be registered for this service with the Revenue and in practice many people still find it easier to complete the tax forms and send them to the Tax Office to claim refunds.
You will need to have your P60 forms and complete the relevant sections of the tax return form for your claims. You then post the form and supporting P60 form to the tax office and they will deal with your refund.
